Fix Your Pony! is the fifth edition of the Naughton Gallery’s sports exhibition series, celebrating the coming together of art and sport and exploring a range of issues around diversity and inclusion. International in its scope, this exhibition features a range of contemporary artists, all of whom incorporate sports and/or sports iconography into their practices. Tackling race, gender, politics, sexuality, and beyond, the works in the exhibition span the sporting world, from basketball, skateboarding, gymnastics, and tennis to lucha libre (Mexican wrestling) and bull racing in Bali.

The exhibition also highlights a selection of notable athletes through photography, collectible vinyl figurines, and specially-commissioned illustrations, including Brittney Griner, Sha’Carri Richardson, Naomi Osaka, Briana King, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and tennis G.O.A.T. Serena Williams.

Continuing the tradition of featuring an iconic sneaker in each sports exhibition, Fix Your Pony! celebrates the cult checkerboard Anaheim Factory Authentic 44 skateboarding shoe from Vans. In addition, the exhibition’s reading table draws attention to a number of design-focused sports publications, with regular contributors Victory, SEASON, Racquet, OOF, and SHUKYU being joined by new titles including Skateism, Póg Mo Goal, She Kicks, and AFROSURF.
